Artist's Description

A little slice of Newburyport's History. Located in the heart of downtown Newburyport, this landmark property sparks some wonderful memories for locals. It has seen a few iterations over the years but for the die-hards, it will always be Fowle's. Marble counters, cozy booths, the smell of coffee and bacon. Magazines, candy, nuts, cigars and that special spot on the back wall where only the adults could browse!

Both my parents were professional photographers, so it goes without saying, that I've had a camera in my hands most of my life. When I learned how to use Photoshop and how to use textures and various artist's applications, I entered a whole new universe of expression and fulfillment through photography. I have a great deal of respect for traditional, representational photography but personally, I never really felt fulfilled when I attempted to make a photograph look exactly like the scene I was attempting to capture, I guess my artistic brain is perpetually out of focus!
